Congratulations to Knightdale and Lake Myra Elementary schools and its fourth grade students and teams for their outstanding combined performance yesterday in The Collision: Technology Meets the Arts. The LEAP Team, NC AIA's ambassadors, also gave a stellar performance.
Held at Knightdale High School, the program was written and directed by Alton Tisino with musical direction by Doug Largent. Assistant Direction was led by Sue Smith and Suzi Landis. The narration was by Yolanda Rabun. Fourth grade students danced through the binary code, pondered mad scientists, and celebrated the cell phone. They felt the pull of magnetism, and danced their way through the effects of technology from the Age of Enlightenment to our own RTP, and through the radio, computers and artificial intelligence. Alton Tisino wrote two original music pieces in the program, The Artificial Human and Think Big.
We thank Knightdale Principal Teresa James and Lake Myra Principal Tina Zarzecki for their support of our program and the delightful fourth grade teaching team at each school. Thanks also to the PTA for their support of Arts in Action.
On behalf of the children we serve, thank you to parents and our guests for attending both performances. Thanks also to our wonderful supporters for making this program possible.
