Great Job, LEAP Team!

On Sunday, May 21, our Learning, Excellence and Perseverance (LEAP) team dancers gave a season-ending, stellar performance at the Nasher Museum on Duke campus.

The LEAP program fulfills a community need for children in underserved schools to have exposure to the arts in an environment that is inclusive of all children. Teachers report that participants in our in-school programs discover new talents about themselves, gain confidence and increase their ability to focus in school.

Exceptionally achieving dancers from our in-school programs, that show enthusiasm in every Arts in Action class and commit to rehearsing on Saturdays, now have the opportunity to continue to enhance these important life skills after the fourth grade in the tuition-free LEAP Team program.

Our LEAP team dancers, who are our NC Arts in Action Ambassadors, demonstrated warm-up technique, leaps and jumps, and showcased Coming to America before exhibiting their "goodbye and farewell to all" final number. We also congratulate LEAP program manager Kim Demery, lead teacher Alton Tisino, and teaching artist Rachael Lee for their excellence in this year's LEAP program. Thanks to parents, our Board, and community supporters for your wonderful generosity and assistance in helping us present our programming this year.
